Workforce Scholarship Program

SOWELA’s Office of Workforce Solutions is offering a workforce scholarship program to individuals looking to start a new career or upskill in a millwright or pipefitting training program. Training is set to begin Spring 2019. Spots are limited.

How to Enroll

Attend an informational session on December 4, 2018 at 4 p.m. at SOWELA’s Arts & Humanities Building Multipurpose Room or submit an application (PDF) to the Office of Workforce Solutions.

About the Training Programs

Pipefitting

  • 8 weeks, M-F 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Need copy of High School Diploma or HiSet (GED)
  • Credentials Earned: OSHA 10, NCCER Core, Pipefitting Level 1&2

Millwright

  • 6-month course
  • M-Thurs, 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Need copy of High School Diploma or HiSet (GED)
  • Credentials Earned: OSHA 10, NCCER Core, Millwright Level 1-5

Cost of the Program

The cost of the program can be as low as $50 with full scholarship opportunities for those that qualify. Normally, the Pipefitting training course is $1,194 and the Millwright training course is $1,468.
