Current Online Training Available
SOWELA’s Online Oil & Gas course library contains over 500 relevant courses that reflect the on-the-job skill needs of the tasks performed daily in this Energy Industry. The courses consists of a concise summary of how the Oil & Gas industry works, from exploration, development, production, and transportation that aims to support the induction of newcomers to the industry.
Registration is required to access the courses. Registration will build the user a dashboard where all purchased course views and completed exams will reside. Completed exams can be downloaded and printed from the Dashboard. Following registration, users can return to SOWELA’s Online Training web page, click the Oil & Gas course library (opens new window) link and sign in (using their e-mail address and password used when the registered) to sign in.
Once the User has registered the course pricing will appear on the Product Catalog from that point forward.

The OSHA Outreach Training Program for General Industry provides training for entry-level workers and employees on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. The program also provides information regarding worker’s rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights.
If you’re a safety manager or supervisor, our OSHA 30-Hour Outreach for General Industry course is your guide to creating a culture of safety in your workplace. You’ll get a comprehensive look at the policies, procedures, and standards covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.
You’ll learn about the basic elements of a workplace safety and health program and how to manage both. This includes understanding an employer’s responsibilities for worker safety, as well as worker’s rights to learn about the potential hazards of their job.

Additionally, you’ll receive a comprehensive overview of the policies, procedures, and best practices in OSHA’s 29 CFR 1926 standards for construction. The course also covers vital information about all the significant hazards found on a construction site.
For example, you’ll learn how to create and implement a safety and health program that addresses critical safety topics in the construction industry, such as stairways and ladders, confined spaces, hand and power tools, scaffolding, and explosives and blasting agents.
Before you can enter or start work on an uncontrolled hazardous waste operation, you need to learn how to stay safe while handling dangerous chemicals.
Our comprehensive 40-Hour HAZWOPER course reviews a variety of topics that relate to Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), including site characterization, hazardous chemicals, radiation hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE), and decontamination methods.
Additionally, our 40-Hour HAZWOPER training teaches you about best practices for safely handling and responding to emergencies that involve hazardous waste. You will also increase your knowledge about OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3) standards.
The training also includes a module that reviews the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) so that you’re compliant with OSHA’s 2013 updates to the Hazardous Communication Standard.
