LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA — SOWELA Technical Community College honored Annamarie Sunderbruch, assistant to the chancellor, with the college's Customer Service Star Award for the Spring 2026 semester during the annual Employee Appreciation Luncheon held earlier this month.
The Customer Service Star Award recognizes faculty and staff members who exemplify SOWELA's commitment to service excellence, teamwork and student success.
Those nominating Sunderbruch praised her dedication and problem-solving mindset, stating, "She truly exceeds expectations for modeling SOWELA's culture. If there's a gap, she finds a way to fill it. If there's a need, she has conversations with leadership to address it. She's never short on perspective as she finds alternative solutions to reach end goals for the greater good of SOWELA."
Sunderbruch has served SOWELA for six years and is also a graduate of the college, earning her degree in 2019.
SOWELA's Customer Service Star Committee selects recipients from nominations submitted by faculty and staff members each semester. The award recognizes employees who consistently demonstrate exceptional customer service and a strong commitment to the college community.
