LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA — SOWELA Technical Community College student Santana LeDay was recently appointed to the Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges (LCTC) Board of Supervisors. LeDay will serve in one of two student representative positions on the board, which plays a vital role in guiding policy, strategic planning and educational initiatives for Louisiana’s 12 community and technical colleges.
LeDay is currently pursuing a degree in Process Technology at SOWELA and also serves as a student worker in the College’s recruitment office. In addition to her academic achievements, she was recently elected as the 2026-2027 Student Government Association President, demonstrating her strong commitment to student leadership and campus engagement. Her appointment to the board reflects both her dedication to higher education and her passion for representing student voices across the state.
