Louisiana Phi Beta Lambda Competition Gives Students the Opportunity to Test Business-Related Skills Among Peers
LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA – April 15, 2020
SOWELA’s Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) students recently competed in a virtual statewide competition, bringing home 30 medals in a variety of categories. The conference provides students with the opportunity to grow their leadership skills and compete for excellence in the National Awards Program.
Winners include: Accounting for Professionals 1st place Joshua Kiser, 2nd place Candace Benoit; Accounting Principles 1st place Taylor Simon, 2nd place Candace Benoit; Administrative Technology 2nd place Meaghan Quebedeaux, 3rd place Sabrina Reeves; Business Communication 1st place Haley Oden, 2nd place Michaela LaCombe; Business Law 1st place Bryan Barrilleaux; Client Service 1st place Meaghan Quebedeaux; Computer Applications 1st place Joshua Kiser, 3rd place Sabrina Reeves; Contemporary Sports Issues 1st place Daryl Oliver; Cost Accounting 1st place Joshua Kiser, 2nd place Taylor Simon; Desktop Publishing 1st place SOWELA team including Meaghan Quebedeaux, Sabrina Reeves and Vivian Barrilleaux; Entrepreneurship 1st place Bryan Barrilleaux; Integrated Marketing Campaign 1st place SOWELA team include Bryan and Vivian Barrilleaux; Macroeconomics 1st place Haley Oden; Management Concepts 1st place Ezra Hebert; Marketing Concepts 2nd place Vivian Barrilleaux, 3rd place Disha Patel; Microeconomics 1st place Haley Oden; Personal Finance 1st place Esther Robinson, 3rd place Ursula Matthews; Sports Management 1st place Daryl Oliver; Statistical Analysis 1st place Disha Patel.
In addition, SOWELA student Sabrina Reeves was named Future Business Executive and SOWELA’s Phi Beta Lambda Chapter received the Largest Local Professional Division Chapter award and ranked 2nd in the Largest Increase in Membership category. Meaghan Quebedeaux was elected Vice President of Membership and Disha Patel elected Vice President FBLA-PBL Relations for the state executive leadership team.
