Financial Aid and Academic Advising Appointments Available for Prospective Students

Spring 2025 registration opens Monday, October 28, for all interested individuals who want to enroll at SOWELA for any of its academic programs at all four community college locations in Southwest Louisiana.
SOWELA currently offers online, hybrid, and in-person options depending on course availability and requirements. Its Main Campus is in Lake Charles with sites in Jennings, Oakdale, and Leesville. Students are encouraged to register early for the best scheduling options, as classes tend to fill quickly. Spring courses begin on Monday, January 13.
Students can apply at www.sowela.edu/apply. Scholarships and financial aid are available, and individuals are encouraged to complete their 2024-2025 FAFSA and a SOWELA scholarship application to determine eligibility at www.sowela.edu/scholarships.
