SOWELA Technical Community College’s Office of Workforce Solutions is offering a Workforce Scholarship Program to individuals looking to start a new career or upskill in a millwright or pipefitting training program. Training is set to begin Spring 2019. Spots are limited.
Interested individuals can attend an Informational Session on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 4 p.m. in SOWELA’s Arts & Humanities Building Multipurpose Room. During the session, attendees will learn about the training programs, complete an application and have the opportunity to ask questions about the Workforce Scholarship Program. Attendees should bring a copy of their high school diploma or HiSET (GED).
The cost of the program can be as low as $50 with full scholarship opportunities for those that qualify. Normally, the Pipefitting training course is $1,194 and the Millwright training course is $1,468.
Pipefitting training is an 8-week course. Credentials earned include OSHA 10, NCCER Core, Pipefitting Level 1 & 2. Millwright training is a six-month course. Credentials earned include OSHA 10, NCCER Core, and Millwright Level 1-5.
