Attend the February 20th Informational Sessions to Learn More

SOWELA’s Office of Workforce Solutions is offering an 8-week Pipefitting certification program with class starting on Monday, March 2. Completers of the course have the exclusive opportunity to apply for a paid apprenticeship program with Bechtel. Spots are limited.
Individuals interested in learning more can attend one of two informational sessions on Thursday, February 20th, at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. in SOWELA’s Global Learning Center, Auditorium, 3749 Senator J. Bennett Johnston Ave., Lake Charles, LA 70616. Representatives will be on hand to discuss available financial aid and scholarship opportunities, details of the Pipefitting course, and Bechtel’s apprenticeship process.

SOWELA’s course follows NCCER Levels 1 & 2 curriculum. Successful completers receive NCCER credentials for both levels of pipefitting. Students learn how to install and repair both high- and low-pressure pipe systems used in manufacturing, in the generation of electricity, and the heating and cooling of buildings.
