SOWELA Offers Culinary Arts Summer Camps at Jennings Site


Let their curiosity soar: 1st – 8th graders explore the Culinary Arts

LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA – May 27, 2019

The Office of Workforce Solutions at SOWELA Technical Community College is pleased to announce its 2019 Summer Camp line up at the Morgan Smith Site in Jennings, LA. Credentialed faculty lead each camp, which provides children with the opportunity to explore a possible career path and learn new skills.

SOWELA Culinary Arts Camp Schedule

  • Culinary Camp: Held July 8 – 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. An annual favorite for young cooks entering 6th through 8th grades. Campers cook and prepare breakfast and lunch. The cost is $200.
  • Kids in the Kitchen: Held July 15 – 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A fun, age-appropriate, and educational camp for younger cooks entering 1st through 5th grades. Campers cook and prepare breakfast and lunch. The cost is $200.
  • Grandparent and Me Camp: Held July 29 – 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Create special memories between grandparents and grandkids with this camp geared toward kids entering 1st through 8th grades and their grandparents. The cost is $100 and includes breakfast and lunch.
