Let their curiosity soar: 1st – 8th graders explore the Culinary Arts

SOWELA Technical Community College is pleased to announce its 2020 Summer Camp line up at the Morgan Smith Site in Jennings, LA. SOWELA Chef Amy Haddox will lead each camp, which provides children with the opportunity to explore a possible career path in Culinary Arts and learn cooking skills and kitchen safety.
SOWELA Morgan Smith Culinary Arts Camp Schedule
- Culinary Camp: Held June 29 – July 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. An annual favorite for young cooks entering 6th through 8th grades. Campers cook and prepare breakfast and lunch. The cost is $200.
- Kids in the Kitchen: Held July 13 – 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A fun, age-appropriate, and educational camp for younger cooks entering 1st through 5th grades. Campers cook and prepare breakfast and lunch. The cost is $200.
- Grandparent and Me Camp: Two camps are available from July 20 – 21 or July 22 – 23 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Create special memories between grandparents and grandkids with this camp geared toward kids entering 1st through 8th grades and their grandparents. The cost is $100 and includes breakfast and lunch.
