Many programs are considered ‘top-rated occupations’ by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. These Louisiana star jobs are both in-demand and offer higher-than-average salaries. Programs leading to four- and five-star jobs include Practical Nursing (LPN), Welding, and more.
Students can take classes at SOWELA and transfer many credits to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree. The College has ten transfer agreements with four-year colleges and universities throughout the state and online, allowing transfer students the opportunity to significantly reduce the cost of their baccalaureate degrees by completing their first two years at SOWELA before transfer.
Students may also choose to complete an associate degree or technical diploma and go straight to the workforce.
Programs offered at SOWELA Oakdale include Business Administration (online or on-campus), Culinary Arts online, Industrial Instrumentation Technology, Practical Nursing (LPN), and Welding.
For more information about the event or how to enroll, please contact SOWELA Oakdale at (318) 335-3944 or email onestop@sowela.edu. Classes start Monday, August 16, for the fall semester.
