The 10-week Program Starts September 25, with Financial Aid Available

SOWELA Technical Community College is now accepting applications for its Pipeline Technician training program in the TC Energy Pipeline Academy, the only academy of its kind in Louisiana. Training begins on Monday, September 25.
The 10-week Pipeline Technician program aims to provide classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare students for employment in various jobs in the pipeline industry. After successfully meeting course requirements, students will receive a Pipeline Technician Certification of Completion.
Instruction includes test overfill protection devices, startup and shutdown of a liquid pipeline, and rectifier installation. Training also covers codes and standards, fire safety, and pipeline operations. Students develop safety protocols, efficient work practices and basic occupational and employability skills.

The TC Energy Pipeline Academy at SOWELA is a regional learning center for students pursuing a career in the oil and gas field – one of Louisiana’s largest workforce industries.
