18-week Curriculum Covers Residential and Commercial Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

SOWELA Technical Community College’s Office of Workforce Solutions is now registering for HVAC training. The class starts Monday, April 25. During the 18-week program, students learn residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Successful completers earn 10 hours of OSHA-authorized training on critical workplace safety topics, and clock 695 instructional hours. In addition, students are prepared to test for the EPA Universal 608 license and the Ready to Work NATE certification.
SOWELA’s HVAC training program prepares individuals to be heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and installers, a four-star job according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. Star jobs are based on occupational outlook, educational requirement and salary.
