SOWELA Jennings Will Host Two Sterile Processing Informational Sessions

Prospective Students Can Explore the Program’s Job Market, Meet Faculty and Learn about Scholarships and Financial Aid

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Wednesday, May 8

SOWELA Morgan Smith will host two Sterile Processing Informational Sessions on Tuesday, June 11. Interested individuals can choose from one of the following meeting times: 9-11 a.m. or 1-3 p.m. Both sessions will occur at SOWELA’s site next to Jennings High School, 2110 Sherman St. Jennings, LA 70546.

Each session will offer attendees guidance on financial aid and scholarships, an overview of the program, faculty and staff introductions and how to apply.

Sterile Processing is a certificate program designed to train students as Sterile Processing Technicians to support the surgical team. The program is an 18-credit hour certificate of technical studies (CTS) that prepares students for employment in the medical field as sterile processors.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical equipment prepares, including sterile processing technicians, can expect a job growth of 6% from 2021 to 2031.
