SOWELA Jennings Hosts Second Annual Open House

Prospective Students and Their Families are Invited to Tour the College and Explore Scholarship and Financial Aid Opportunities

(Jennings, Louisiana – February 19, 2024)

SOWELA Technical Community College Morgan Smith will host its second annual open house on Tuesday, March 26. The open house will run from 5:00-6:30 PM and is open to the public. Prospective students and their families can learn more about the SOWELA’s Jennings location, including available programs close to home, scholarship and financial aid options, how to register and take a tour.

“We’re excited to offer these events to our community,” said SOWELA Jennings Site Coordinator Adrienne Abel. “Our talented instructors will showcase their respective programs and visitors will be able to tour our facility. Interested individuals will also have a chance to visit with staff who can answer questions regarding class schedules, financial aid and other enrollment scenarios. We look forward to forging future connections with the community.”

Available programs at the site include Business Administration, Culinary Arts Online, Industrial Electrical, Industrial Instrumentation, Practical Nursing (LPN), Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology and Welding. Coursework includes hands-on training with state-of-the-art lab space.

Most recently, the Industrial Instrumentation program expanded classes to provide Jeff Davis Parish residents with the full program. Prior to the expansion students had to finish the later portion of the program at SOWELA’s Main Campus in Lake Charles.

To register for the open house, visit the event registration (opens new window) page. For questions or more information, call (337) 824-4811.
