Student Artwork to be Showcased in Airshow Posters and T-shirts
LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA – April 10, 2019
Two SOWELA Graphic Art students’ designs were selected as part of the Chennault International Airshow’s poster and T-shirt contest. SOWELA student Jade Higginbotham created the winning poster and Vivian Barrilleaux, also a SOWELA student, designed the Airshow’s commemorative T-shirt. Their work is helping promote a popular Southwest Louisiana event that attracts thousands of fans.
Higginbotham and Barrilleaux’s winning artwork was done as part of the Design II course taught by Erik Jessen, an instructor in SOWELA’s Graphic Art program. The project was part of a class assignment and judged competitively for selection as Airshow promotional material.
The winning designers were assisted by Peter O’Carroll, founder of the O’Carroll Group, in adapting their designs for the Airshow.
