LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA – December 16, 2020
Six students in SOWELA’s School of Business and Applied Technology earned top honors at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference. More than 2,000 of America’s best and brightest college students competed virtually for the opportunity to win more than $114,000 in cash awards.
Award winners include Sabrina Reeves, Meaghan Quebedeaux, and Vivan Barrilleaux, Second Place in Desktop Publishing; Bryan and Vivan Barrilleaux, Seventh Place in Integrated Marketing Campaign; Joshua Kiser, Ninth Place in Computer Applications; Candice Benoit, Eight Place in Accounting for Professionals; Daryl Oliver, Sixth Place in Sports Management and Marketing; and Daryl Oliver, Sixth Place in Contemporary Sports Issues. Sabrina Reeves also earned “Who’s Who in Phi Beta Lambda.”
“Congratulations to each of the SOWELA students who placed at the 2020 Phi Beta Lambda National Experience. It is quite an accomplishment to place in the Top Ten when there are literally thousands of student participants from all across the United States. These students are exceptional, and we are extremely proud of them,” said Dr. Marie Coleman, SOWELA’s PBL Adviser and Assistant Professor in SOWELA’s School of Business and Applied Technology.
The PBL National Leadership Conference was held earlier this year. Participants from across the United States attended this exciting virtual conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in 60 business and business-related competitive events.
