SOWELA Announces SGA Officers for 2018-2019


LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA – May 9, 2018

SOWELA Technical Community College announces a new slate of officers for the Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2018-2019 academic year. Every student enrolled at SOWELA is considered a member of SGA which is designed to facilitate student involvement within the College. SGA promotes the general welfare of the College in a democratic fashion and facilitates communication among the student body, faculty, and the administration.

Brittany Ducote, SGA President, is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration and plans to continue her studies upon graduation at a four-year university. Brittany also serves as the State Vice President for SkillsUSA. Jacqueline Limbrick, SGA Vice President, is pursing the Associate of Applied Science degree in Office Systems and also serves as the Secretary/Treasurer for SkillsUSA in Louisiana. Kimberly Stanton, SGA Secretary, is pursing the Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting Technology and Office Systems and serves on the Student Activity Board. Lacey Moran, the SGA Treasurer, is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Drafting and Design Technology.

I know that these officers will bring enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and dedication to SGA,” stated Anna Daigle, the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.

The College has been educating the region’s workforce for 80 years.
