All online courses are self-paced and can be completed within 12 months or less with support services provided through SOWELA's Workforce Solutions department and CareerStep.
This program is designed to explain the importance of clinical standards in the development of electronic health records. It's fast-paced, engaging, and overflowing with relevant information that will help hopeful professionals kickstart or advance their careers. Over the course of 322 hours and 36 modules, learners will explore best practices for several procedures, including (but not limited to) coding and reimbursement. Learners will also get extensive training in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medico-legal rules, and HIPAA. The cost is $3,999.
The Dental Assistant program is designed to help learners pass the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) exam with American Medical Technologists (AMT) and the NELDA component exams (AMP, ICE, RHS). It will also prep them for long-term success as part of a dental care team.
In addition to thorough procedural knowledge, impressive office skills, and equipment-handling expertise, learners will end this dental assisting program with extras that will help them get job-ready, including 160 critical clinical hours. Clinical opportunities vary. The cost is $3,799.
The Hemodialysis Technician program is designed to help learners become a CHT-certified clinical hemodialysis technician so they can provide a life-saving service to patients. Individuals learn to prepare and operate the hemodialysis machine, take vital signs, draw blood, and document results, and they will wrap up the course ready to earn the CHT hemodialysis technician certification from BONENT.
Learners will be connected to one a healthcare partner to gain 250 hours of experience working in a clinical setting—empowering them with the knowledge that leads to certification and increases their employability. Clinical opportunities vary. The cost is $4,199.
The online Medical Assistant program is developed by industry professionals with decades of real-world experience. Curriculum thoroughly trains learners on both routine patient care and clinical office procedures. But it's way more than just training. Thanks to a vast network of partners, learners can earn 100 hours of experience working in a clinical setting—empowering them with the knowledge to earn the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and Certified EKG Technician (CET) credentials. This program provides learners the latest code sets and guidelines to help prepare for careers in revenue management, medical billing or insurance processing. Learners examine key topics such as managed care, legal and regulatory issues including laws and liabilities in healthcare, private and commercial insurance and coding systems, in addition medical terminology and computer fundamentals are also discussed. Learners also gain knowledge in electronic medical records and electronic claims processing and clinical quality language to better meet the demands of their new career. The cost is $3,699.

Typical Duties: In a clinical setting, a Medical Scribe will be involved in shadowing a physician during their daily routine appointments. The scribe will document the interaction between the patient and the physician in order to extrapolate the pertinent medical information that will be placed in the patient's medical record. This might include patient symptoms, medications as well as physician orders for testing or laboratory work.
Physicians are able to focus on the Patient instead of being overwhelmed with the paperwork and data management for their patients. There are many remote scribe positions that are doing similar work from home, either by listening to the physician/patient interaction live or through a recording device. The cost is $3,199.

The Pharmacy Technician program was developed by a board-certified pharmacist and pharmacy technicians with years of experience. The elite training is one of the only pharmacy technician certification programs accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists® (ASHP) / Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)—meeting all 41 of their stringent objectives. The main purpose of the online pharmacy technician certification program is to prepare learners to successfully pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam and become employable—competent and confident—as quickly as possible.
