Alumni Spotlight: Devin Dronett

When you think about available job opportunities for Industrial Instrumentation and Industrial Electrical programs, an electric vehicle maker likely isn't the first employer that comes to mind. For 2018 SOWELA grad Devin Dronett, however, these programs opened the door to a career at Tesla.

“The hands-on training with electrical and controls has helped tremendously with troubleshooting and solving problems quickly and effectively,” said Dronett. “The PLC programming courses are where I discovered what I wanted to focus on and build my career around.”

Today, he is an Advanced Automation Engineer for Tesla at the Gigafactory in Texas, proving SOWELA's focus on workforce training provides students with in-demand skills that apply to a variety of industries.
