SOWELA’s Center of Workforce Excellence
Building on past performance, SOWELA will expand the offerings in three successful programs: Industrial Instrumentation, Industrial Electrician, and Process Technology with the expectation of adding ancillary programs as requested by industry to create the Industrial and Process Technology Center of Workforce Excellence.
The Instrumentation and Electrical programs are closely related and share common course content in (but not limited to) process control, maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical wiring, circuitry, and control logic as it relates to the petrochemical industry.
By integrating the Instrumentation and Electrical programs with the Process Technology program, SOWELA will be able to offer students a more comprehensive learning environment that will increase their learning options and career opportunities to meet workforce demands in the petrochemical industry.
The students educated through this Center of Workforce Excellence will be prepared for local, high paying jobs in the petrochemical industry.
The Industrial and Process Technology Center of Workforce Excellence will add value to the image of SOWELA as being a relevant and necessary component of the region’s expansion and serve as a catalyst for innovative and rigorous educational and training solutions.
