About the Car Show
The SOWELA Flying Tigers Car Show is a fundraiser for the SOWELA Foundation to help provide Southwest Louisiana students with scholarship opportunities and enhancements at SOWELA Technical Community College. Whether you are a car show participant or attendee, you play an important part in helping provide students with the opportunity to reach their educational and career goals.
If you’re attending the show
The event is free for all attendees.
If you’re showcasing a vehicle at the show
All show vehicles must register by 8:45 AM Judging begins promptly at 9:00 AM For safety reasons, the car show vehicle gate closes at 8:45 AM.
Agenda
- 9:00 AM – National Anthem and Color Guard with Chennault Battalion Sea Cadets
- 10:00 AM – Photos with Ace, SOWELA’s Flying Tiger mascot
- 11:00 AM – Coca-Cola new product tasting with SOWELA Bookstore
- 12:00 PM – Car Show Awards
- 1:00 PM – Event concludes
Directions
The car show is at SOWELA Technical Community College in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Take the Legion Street exit off Interstate 210 and head east on Senator J. Bennett Johnston Avenue.
Weather
The car show will take place rain or shine. Concrete parking is available and vehicles being showcased will also park on concrete. If the car show is cancelled due to lightning or other severe weather conditions, the event will not be rescheduled.
Policies
Alcoholic Beverages – Because the car show is conducted on College grounds, consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited at all times. State regulations prohibit any exceptions to this policy.
Pets – No pets are allowed on the show grounds unless they are a Leader or Seeing Eye dog or other animals used for assistance by handicapped persons.
Bicycles – Bicycles are not allowed on show grounds.
