Earn Two Certifications in Three Weeks with SOWELA’s Culinary Fundamentals Training


Tuition is $50 for a Limited Time

(Lake Charles, Louisiana – February 23, 2022)

SOWELA Technical Community College’s Office of Workforce Solutions is now registering for Culinary Fundamentals training. The class starts Monday, March 21, and is $50 for a limited time. Successful completers can apply the course to 9 credit hours of the Culinary Arts associate degree program and continue their hospitality education.

Culinary Fundamentals is a three-week program that prepares students to enter the hospitality industry as entry-level cooks. After successful completion of the course, students earn two nationally recognized certifications, including the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute’s (AHLEI) Certified Kitchen Cook and the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Manager Certification.

Students gain hands-on experience working in an industrial kitchen setting. The culinary class meets Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For more information or to enroll, visit our Culinary Fundamentals page.
