SAP and GPA Calculator

This calculator has been created to help students project their SAP status. You will be able to enter your current courses and potential grades to calculate your GPA and Completion Pace for SAP standards. Please feel free to visit our Enrollment Services One Stop Center or email us at onestop@sowela.edu if you need help.

  1. Log into your LOLA account.
  2. Click on Student under the Self Service Banner tab.
  3. Click on the Degree Works Dashboard Progress under the Academic Links tab.
  4. Enter your SAP Details into the "SAP Calculator" section.
  5. Enter the courses for your current semester and the grades you expect to earn into the "GPA Calculator" section.
  6. Review the results to see if you will meet SAP.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements

To maintain eligibility for federal financial aid, students must adhere to the following SAP standards:

  • Grade Point Average (GPA): Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00.
  • Pace of Progression: Students are required to complete at least 67% of all attempted credits.
  • Maximum Time Frame: Students must not exceed 150% of the published length of their program in attempted credits.
  • Repeated Courses: Repeated failed courses count towards attempted hours; financial aid covers one repetition of a passed course.
  • Withdrawals and Incompletes: Withdrawn or incomplete courses are considered attempted but not completed.
  • Appeals: Students failing to meet SAP standards may appeal based on mitigating circumstances with required documentation.
